Changes in intimate wellness can occur at many stages of a woman’s life. Pregnancy and childbirth, hormonal changes, menopause, aging, and changes in pelvic floor strength can all affect how vaginal and surrounding tissues look, feel, and function.

Some women notice changes such as vaginal laxity, decreased tissue elasticity, pelvic floor weakness, urinary leakage, dryness, discomfort, or simply a feeling that their body is different than it once was.

These concerns are common, but that does not mean women have to ignore them.

At Carolina Cosmetic Surgery, vaginal rejuvenation is approached as an individualized component of women’s wellness. Rather than assuming that every concern requires the same treatment, we evaluate the patient’s symptoms, anatomy, medical history, and personal goals to determine which treatment—or combination of treatments—may be appropriate.

Our non-surgical vaginal rejuvenation options include Morpheus8V, FormaV, and VTone. Each technology works differently, allowing us to address tissue quality, vaginal and vulvar concerns, and pelvic floor function through a more comprehensive treatment approach.

Morpheus8V: Fractional RF Microneedling for Intimate Tissue

Morpheus8V uses fractional radiofrequency technology specifically designed for intimate areas. The treatment delivers controlled RF energy into targeted tissue, creating fractional coagulation and stimulating a natural remodeling response.Unlike treatments that work only at the surface, Morpheus8V allows treatment to be customized according to the area being addressed and the patient’s individual anatomy.Depending on the patient’s concerns and clinical evaluation, Morpheus8V may be incorporated into a vaginal rejuvenation plan when the goal is to improve tissue quality and address age-, hormonal-, or childbirth-related changes.Patients may seek consultation for concerns such as:

  • Changes in vaginal or vulvar tissue qualityDecreased tissue elasticityVaginal laxityChanges following pregnancy and childbirthAge- or menopause-related tissue changesOverall intimate rejuvenation

Because intimate concerns are highly personal, treatment recommendations are made only after an individualized consultation.

FormaV: Gentle Radiofrequency Treatment

FormaV provides another approach to non-surgical intimate wellness. Rather than using microneedles, FormaV delivers bipolar radiofrequency energy with real-time temperature monitoring to provide controlled, uniform heating of the targeted tissue.

The controlled warming of tissue can improve local circulation and may be used as part of a treatment plan focused on comfort, tissue quality, muscle relaxation, and intimate wellness.

For many patients, FormaV is particularly appealing because it is a non-invasive treatment and can be incorporated into a broader vaginal rejuvenation program without surgery.

The experience is generally described as a warming sensation, and treatment parameters are adjusted according to the patient’s comfort and individualized treatment plan.

VTone: Strengthening and Re-Educating the Pelvic Floor

Not every intimate wellness concern begins with the vaginal tissue itself. The pelvic floor muscles play an important role in bladder control and pelvic support, and these muscles can weaken following pregnancy, childbirth, aging, and other changes.

VTone takes a different approach from FormaV and Morpheus8V.

VTone uses intravaginal electrical muscle stimulation (EMS) to produce controlled pelvic floor muscle contractions. It is designed for neuromuscular re-education and rehabilitation of weakened pelvic floor muscles.

This can be particularly relevant for women experiencing urinary leakage associated with weakened pelvic floor function. VTone is FDA cleared for intravaginal electrical muscle stimulation and neuromuscular re-education for weak pelvic floor muscles and for addressing stress, urge, and mixed urinary incontinence.

Patients may consider a pelvic floor evaluation if they notice concerns such as:

  • Leakage when coughing, laughing, sneezing, or exercising
  • Difficulty maintaining pelvic floor strength
  • Pelvic floor changes following pregnancy or childbirth
  • Changes in bladder control
  • Age-related weakening of the pelvic floor

VTone treatments are performed in the office and do not require surgery.

Morpheus8V vs. FormaV vs. VTone: What Is the Difference?

Although these treatments are often discussed together, they are not interchangeable.

Morpheus8V uses fractional radiofrequency technology to target and remodel tissue.

FormaV uses controlled bipolar radiofrequency heating without microneedling and may be incorporated into treatment plans focused on tissue quality, circulation, comfort, and wellness.

VTone uses electrical muscle stimulation and focuses primarily on pelvic floor muscle rehabilitation and neuromuscular re-education.

For some patients, one modality may be appropriate. For others, combining technologies may allow us to address more than one component of their concerns.

For example, a patient may have both changes in vaginal tissue following childbirth and weakened pelvic floor muscles contributing to urinary leakage. Treating only one component may not address her complete concern. A personalized plan could potentially incorporate RF-based treatment for tissue concerns along with VTone for pelvic floor rehabilitation.

The goal is not simply to perform a “vaginal rejuvenation treatment.” It is to understand what has changed, what is bothering the patient, and which treatment is designed to address that particular concern.

A Personalized Approach to Intimate Wellness

There is no single vaginal rejuvenation treatment that is appropriate for every woman.

During your consultation at Carolina Cosmetic Surgery, we can discuss concerns that may be difficult or uncomfortable to bring up elsewhere. Our goal is to provide a professional, respectful environment where patients can openly discuss changes related to childbirth, aging, menopause, pelvic floor function, urinary leakage, tissue quality, and intimate confidence.

Your evaluation may include discussion of:

  • Pregnancy and childbirth history
  • Menopausal or hormonal changes
  • Vaginal or vulvar tissue concerns
  • Pelvic floor weakness
  • Urinary symptoms
  • Previous pelvic procedures or surgeries
  • Personal comfort concerns
  • Your goals and expectations for treatment

From there, we can determine whether Morpheus8V, FormaV, VTone, another treatment, or a combination approach is appropriate.

Some symptoms—particularly new or unexplained urinary symptoms, bleeding, pain, recurrent infections, or other gynecologic concerns—may require evaluation by a gynecologist, urogynecologist, urologist, or another appropriate medical specialist before aesthetic or wellness treatment.

Non-Surgical Vaginal Rejuvenation vs. Vaginal Surgery

Non-surgical vaginal rejuvenation and vaginal surgery serve different purposes.

Energy-based treatments and pelvic floor therapies may be appropriate for certain functional or tissue-quality concerns, but they cannot reproduce the anatomical changes achieved with surgery.

For patients with more significant structural concerns, excess tissue, or goals that cannot reasonably be addressed with a non-surgical treatment, Dr. Catherine Loflin may discuss surgical options such as labiaplasty, vaginoplasty, or perineoplasty when appropriate.

This is one of the advantages of having intimate wellness treatments available within a cosmetic surgical practice: the conversation does not have to begin with a predetermined procedure.

Instead, we can evaluate your anatomy and goals and discuss the spectrum of available options—from non-surgical treatments such as FormaV, VTone, and Morpheus8V to surgical vaginal rejuvenation when indicated.

How Many Vaginal Rejuvenation Treatments Will I Need?

The number and type of treatments depend on the concern being addressed and the technology selected.

Some patients may benefit from a treatment series, while others may have different recommendations based on their anatomy, symptoms, previous pregnancies, degree of pelvic floor weakness, tissue quality, and treatment goals.

Rather than recommending the same package to every patient, Carolina Cosmetic Surgery develops an individualized treatment plan following consultation.

Maintenance treatment may also be discussed when appropriate.

Intimate Wellness Is Part of Whole-Patient Care

Women sometimes assume that concerns involving urinary leakage, vaginal changes, or intimate wellness are simply things they are expected to live with after childbirth or menopause.

We believe these concerns deserve the same thoughtful, individualized conversation as any other area of health and wellness.

At Carolina Cosmetic Surgery, our approach is discreet, personalized, and centered on the whole patient. Whether your primary concern is pelvic floor weakness, changes in vaginal tissue, postpartum changes, menopause-related concerns, or simply feeling more comfortable and confident in your body, your treatment begins with a private consultation and an individualized evaluation.

Schedule a Private Vaginal Rejuvenation Consultation

If you have noticed changes following childbirth, menopause, hormonal changes, or aging, we invite you to schedule a confidential consultation with Carolina Cosmetic Surgery.

We can discuss your concerns and determine whether Morpheus8V, FormaV, VTone, surgical vaginal rejuvenation, or a customized combination of treatments may be appropriate for you.

Our goal is not to place every patient into the same treatment protocol. It is to understand your concerns, evaluate your anatomy and wellness goals, and develop a thoughtful treatment plan designed specifically for you.
